My Vision for the City of North
Canton as Your Next Mayor
North Canton must position itself for future growth and
prosperity. I would like to see a Comprehensive Plan completed
for North Canton much like what I found on the Internet for the
City of Wooster.
North Canton must identify its strengths and it weaknesses
and then develop a plan. North Canton must set goals for itself
and then take the needed steps to achieve those goals.
As the next Mayor of North Canton, I would direct my time to
solving problems in the following areas.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
Meet with existing business
owners for ideas and offer any assistance needed.
Meet with residents for input
on how to improve their neighborhoods |
Meet with local city, county,
state and federal officials to enlist their help
I will work to expand existing
business and facilitate new business. |
I will seek out land
annexations that are needed to bring opportunity and revenue
to North Canton. |
REVENUE GENERATION:
I would encourage City
Council to keep fees up to date for city services.
Facilitate grant writing in
house. |
CITIZEN ASSISTANCE
I would support:
Gas Aggregation program for
the citizens of North Canton. |
Educate eligible citizens on
benefits of signing up for the Homestead Exemption.
Discounted rates on city
utilities for citizens seventy and older. |
Program to vacuum leaves each
fall. |
Begin street projects sooner
and minimize the time streets are closed. |
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
I would support:
Complete replacement of
inferior water lines without delay |
Immediate studies to rectify
storm and sewer |
Comprehensive traffic study to
improve traffic flows through the city |
Improve city sidewalks around
all city schools. |
Plans for a new safety center
INFORMATION ACCESS
I would support:
Development of a more
functional and informative city Web site and intranet.
Explore creation of city-wide
wireless internet access. |
